I am starting this blog to share my learnings about data science and Big Data / Analytics in general with all of you out there in cyberspace who are interested to learn or know more about the same. Data Science is a discipline that uses scientific methods and processes to extract knowledge and insights from data in various forms - structured as well as unstructured ones.... Data science involves using algorithms to model and analyze data and extract knowledge from it. Then make predictions and identify trends that can help decision making and improve business outcomes.

In simpler terms, It's a field of computer science in which we collect raw data from the real world. Transform it into useful information for further analysis by using mathematical methods and machine learning techniques like neural networks etc. 

Why Does Data Science Matter?

The rise of big data  has made businesses realize the importance of data-driven decisions which can help them make better business decisions and increase profits by optimizing resources and reducing cost at the same time!!! With the increase in availability of huge volumes of real-time data generated by various   sources both online and offline companies are now looking at analyzing this data to gain valuable insights and gain competitive advantage over others in the market space as well making the need for data scientists even more crucial today than ever before!!!!!!! 

How to Learn Data Science?

You must have these questions - Who is Data Scientists? How to become a successful one????? What's the future of this field of profession in the digital era we live in?? There are primarily two ways of learning this skill of data analysis, i.e., via formal education or through self learning through online resources that are available on the internet for free these days... So which one to choose???

Well, the answer is pretty simple, as both have their respective pros & cons. But in my opinion, the best way to learn data analytics is through a formal course offered by reputed institutes.

Since they not only provide theoretical knowledge of the subject but also practical exposure in the form of projects, etc., which helps one gain hands-on experience with the topic. Which is highly required in this field of work as it helps in gaining confidence and building a strong foundation in the domain before venturing out to work in the industry itself, where you will be expected to perform at par with the industry standards without any prior experience in the field at all. 

So it's better to have a head start than being left behind in the sprint to the finish line (as I usually say). As the saying goes, 'the early bird catches the worm, right????.. So start now before it's too late. Start earning those big bucks with your smart work rather than your hard work alone. Because, it's said, hard work pays off in the long run whereas smart work pays you now. That's what it's all about, isn't it??
